Research Group

  • Bhuvanesh Gupta : Bhuvanesh Gupta is the professor of polymer in the Department of Textile & Fiber Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Prof. Gupta heads the Bioengineering group in the department. The major interests of the group are in polymer functionalization, biomaterials, hydrogels, biocompatible structures, nanomaterials and tissue engineering. The diversity of the group is in international collaborations in the field of bioengineering and biomaterials. The bio activities are well supported by Indian and European funding agencies.    
  • Chetna Verma : Chetna is the scientist and has been working on the bioengineering of smart nanogels and biofunctional materials for human healthcare system. The precise areas of her work involve designing & development of wound care system and infection-resistant implants   


  • Ankita Sharma  : Ankita Sharma is a Ph.D student working on the development of biopolymer based hemostatic wound care system. Such dressings can exhibit excellent hemostatic and anti-microbial properties.   



  • Pratibha Singh   : Pratibha is Ph. D student in the group and has been working on the development of biocompatible hydrogel based wound care systems for an effective wound management.



  • Manali Somani : Manali is Ph. D student in the group and has been working on the development of infection resistant polyurethane urinary catheters by using functional nanomaterials



  • Vandana Kumari : Vandana is Ph. D student working on the development of Polycaprolactone Based Hybrid Material for Biomedical Application



  • Vipula : Vipula is a Ph. D student in our group. Being an organic chemist, she is well versed with the polymerization process. Her research domain is dedicated on the functionalization of prosthetic hernia mesh with antimicrobial properties using plasma processing.


  • Rohini Verma : Rohini is a Ph. D in our group and has been working on the infection-resistant implants for human health care system. She is textile graduate and will be designing nanofibrous web with bioreceptivity and biocompatibility.



  • Preeti Sharma  : Preeti is a joint Ph. D student from IIT Roorkee. She is an organic chemist and will be working on bionanocomposites for tissue engineering application.



  • Yoshitha : Yoshitha is an ayurvedic doctor and has been working with our group under IITD-AIIA collaboration programe in the field of biopolymer based herbal patches for human healthcare. Her research domain is the development of an innovative patch on a classical Ayurvedic external application in the treatment of osteoarthritis.       


  • Vishal : Vishal is an ayurvedic doctor and has been working with our group under IITD-AIIA collaboration programe in the field of biopolymer based herbal membrane for human healthcare system. His research domain is the development of an innovative external application based on a classical Ayurvedic herb in the management of chronic wound.       


  • Aishwarya Arvind : Aishwarya is a research assistant in our group and has been working on development of polyvinyl alcohol based hydrogels for human healthcare



  • Chesta Mehta : Chesta is research scholar at Department of Chemistry, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. She has been working as a joint PhD student in the field of polymeric materials for water treatment technologies.



  • Pooja Badsara : Pooja is research scholar at Department of Chemistry, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. She has been working as a joint PhD student in the field of biocompatible biopolymers for wound care applications.



  • Nirmal Rathore : Nirmal is research scholar at Department of Chemistry, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. She has been working as a joint PhD student in the field of polymeric composites for advanced applications.



  • Megha Yadav : Megha is research scholar at Department of Chemistry, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. She has been working as a joint PhD student in the field of polymeric materials for water treatment technologies.
