Research Group

  • Bhuvanesh Gupta : Bhuvanesh Gupta is the professor of Polymer in the Department of Textile Technology at Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Prof. Gupta heads the Bioengineering group in the department. The major interests of the group are in polymer functionalization, biomaterials, hydrogels, biocompatible structures, nanomaterials and tissue engineering. The diversity of the group is in international collaborations in the field of bioengineering and biomaterials. The bio activities are well supported by Indian and European funding agencies.  

  • Chetna Verma : Chetna is the Senior Scientist in our group and has been working on the bioengineering of smart nanogels and biofunctional materials for human healthcare system.  The precise areas of her work involve designing & development of wound care system and infection-resistant implants        



  • Manali Somani : Manali Somani is PhD student in the group and has been working on the develpment of antimicrobial polyurethane urinary catheters by using functional nanomaterials.       




  • Priya : Priya has been working on biopolymers in collaboration with Prof. BS Kaith, NIT Jalandhar. Her interest is to design functional materials from biopolymers.     




  • Amit Sharma : Amit has been working on biopolymers in collaboration with Prof. BS Kaith, NIT Jalandhar. His interest is to design functional materials from biopolymers for superabsorbent applications     




  • Ankita Sharma : Ankita Sharma is a Ph.D student working on the development of haemostatic wound care system based on Alginate. Such dressings may provide hemostatic and antimicrobial properties.




  • Vandana Kumari : Vandana Kumari is a Project Associate and has been working on the development of biocompatible non-fluorinated surfactant system for fluoro-polymer polymerization.




  • Pratibha Singh  : Pratibha is PhD student in the group and has been working on the development of biocompatible hydrogel based wound care systems.  




  • Vipula : Vipula is a research scholar in our group. Being organic chemist, she is well versed with the polymerization prcess. Vipula has ben working on the development of biocompatible textile implants by smart functonalization of polymers using plasma processing.



  • Rohini Verma : Rohini is a research scholar in our group and has been working on the infection-resistant implants for human heath care system. She is textile graduate and will be designing nanofibrous web with bioreceptivity and biocompatibility.




  • Preeti Sharma  : Preeti is a research scholar woking in our group as a joint PhD student with IIT Roorkee. She is an organic chemist and will be working on nanobiocomposites for  tissue engineering.




  • Kanchan   : Kanchan is M Tech student in the group and has been working on the development of biocompatible hydrogel based wound care systems




  • Shrishti : Shrishti is M Tech student in the group and has been working on the development of biocompatible pain removal systems.  




  • Mayank : Mayank is M.Tech student and has been working on the development of functional membranes for waste water treatment





  • Rupesh : Rupesh is M.Tech student and has been working on the development of functional PVA for toxic metal ion separation





  • Pushpendra : Pushpendra is B. Tech student and has been working on the plasma functionalization polyester fabric for wound dressing application
